$8 OFF Toy Story 3 DVD/Blu-Ray combo – on sale today! November 2, 2010

My nearly-5-year-old and I listened to an interview with one of the writers of Toy Story 3 on NPR. I enjoyed hearing the way in which they came up with the story line, how they developed the characters, etc. What was my son’s response? “MOM! Toy Story 3 comes out on DVD on November 2nd! MOM! We HAVE to get that! Can we? Can we? Pleeeeeeease?”

Well, TODAY is THE day… THE day that Toy Story 3 comes out on DVD & Blu-Ray in the stores! Click here to head over to Disney Movie Rewards for a printable coupon for $8 OFF the Toy Story 3 DVD/Blu-Ray Combo!

If you’re not already a member, you’ll need to sign up (free and quick). (If you took advantage of the deal I posted last spring that got you free tickets to see Toy Story 3 in the theater, you’re already a member!)

Don’t have a Blu-Ray player? We don’t either. However, I’m buying the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack because, chances are, we’ll get a Blu-Ray player in the future… AND with this $8 OFF coupon, the combo costs just $1 more than the DVD alone! (Target has the combo pack on sale right now for $24.99 and the DVD for $15.99… Making the combo pack just $16.99 + tax after the couponFind a Target near you.)

Expires: The coupon expires November 8, 2010.

Thanks, SlickDeals!

FREE tall coffee at Starbucks! July 28, 2010

StarbucksAh, tell me how wonderful is this?!?! Yes, there is a way to get a FREE tall coffee at Starbucks. No, you don’t have to answer any surveys, jump through any hoops, or promise me your first-born child…

So, I brew Starbucks coffee at home every. single. morning. The other day I looked closely at the bag and noticed that there’s an ad on the side of it that says, “Bring us your empty bag. We’ll give you a coffee.” FREE COFFEE! WOOHOO! (Yes, I’ve had my cup of coffee already this morning. Can you tell?)

Take a minute to read those bags — or bug a friend who brews Starbucks coffee at home — and save them for a day when you need a pick-me-up! The ad is black with white writing. Look for it! (I think it is just on the bags that you buy at non-Starbucks stores, such as Target, Kroger, etc.)

Oh, and have you heard that you can use your iPhone to pay for your Starbucks coffee at Starbucks locations within Target stores?!? Yep, there’s an app for that. This is pretty darn cool. Click here for more info.

Expires: 30 days after the “Best Before” date printed on your bag

(This is a re-post from April 2010, but well worth it since we have so many new friends visiting Being Resourceful and most people seem to not know about this fabulous deal!)

TARGET: How to double your savings! June 5, 2010

If you’re a Target shopper like I am, I have just one question: do you match up your manufacturer’s coupons and Target store coupons to (often) more than double your savings? If not, lend me your ear…

We’re about to load up the car to head to SuperTarget and I’m about to save over $27 in coupons! Before shopping, I always check the sites for printable coupons. In particular, I always make sure to check this site. Some of the coupons that print are Target store coupons, which you can often match to manufacturer’s coupons and use TWO coupons on one item (one store coupon, one manufacturer’s coupon). Having trouble with the link? Try this one.

For example, this morning I printed a $1.00 OFF Shout products coupon (Target store coupon) and I have a 75cents OFF Shout products coupon (manufacturer’s coupon) clipped in my coupon folder.  I swear by the Shout Color Catcher to keep my brights bright and my darks dark (and not let my colors bleed), so I’ll save $1.75 OFF one box of Shout Color Catcher today!

Happy shopping!

$3 SuperStar Barbie! March 11, 2010

Everyone wants to be a SuperStar. Now you can pretend you’re one when you own SuperStar Barbie for just $3! Yes, you read that right. Just three smackeroos! That’s less than the cost of a grande non-fat no-foam latte at Starbucks…

Through March 13, 2010, SuperStar Barbie is on sale for the original Barbie price ($3) from 1959. I’ll hop on that band wagon! Who knows, my 2 year old may become a Barbie fanatic. And, if not, I know several adults who’d like this as a gift anyhow!

This SuperStar Barbie is a re-release of the original SuperStar Barbie that came out in 1977. Now she’s out on the town with a shorter hemline and lots of sparkle. She even has her own bling — a “diamond” ring!

You can find SuperStar Barbie in stores and online. Here she is for just $3 at a couple of online spots:

Toys-R-Us

Target (UPDATE: Target online is sold out!)

FYI, when I priced SuperStar Barbie online at Target, the shipping was close to $6 to my house. Here’s my suggestion — buy a bunch! Get together with your office crew or neighborhood friends and buy several in one order while they last! Who wants to go from store to store? And, ordering as a group saves gas money, time, etc. Now, that’s Being Resourceful!

Expires: March 13, 2010

$18 Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome December 11, 2009

I just read an ad for this Crayola Color Explosion Glow Dome in Parents magazine and it sounds like a really neat toy. Kids (geared for 6 & up) can color on the clear dome with the provided markers, and project their images up onto the ceiling. They’ll even spin thanks to the motorized dome. Talk about the perfect slumber party activity!

So, I started checking out pricing. Amazon has it for $43, but I found it in our local Target ads for just $18 through tomorrow! That’s more than 50% off!

Enter your zip code to see the weekly ad for the Target near you.

And be sure to pick up the 3 AA batteries to give with the Glow Dome!
