SOLD OUT: $3 tickets to Plano (Hot Air) Balloon Festival September 16, 2010

BalloonsUPDATE: I just checked the AdPages site (1:50pm CST 9/17/10) and the discounted tickets are sold out.

There is something just so incredible and serene about watching hot air balloons take flight. The woosh of the flame as it heats the air in the balloon, the sight of the balloons filling and taking shape, then watching them take their ascent upwards as they display their majesty in the sky. I wax poetic, but really, it is AWESOME!

THIS WEEKEND is the Plano Balloon Festival in Plano, TX, just north of Dallas. It is worth driving from near and far to attend, and is fun for all ages. We went a few years ago when my son was barely 2-years-old and he was stunned into silence! (And this is one chatty kiddo.)

Purchase advance tickets for just $3 each right now online! Tickets are regularly $5, and during 9am & 3pm they’reĀ $4, butĀ  the balloons take flight at 6pm Friday, 7am & 6pm Saturday, and 7am & 6pm Sunday, so that’s when you’ll want to attend. (Note that kiddos 36″ & under are free.) Note that you’ll need to create a login/pw for AdPages to purchase this deal, but it is free and quick.

There’s even live entertainment on Sat night after the balloon launch, balloon glow, and fireworks — don’t forget your camera!

Expires: The tickets are good for Fri, Sat, or Sun this weekend (9/17-19/10), but there are a limited number of discounted tickets available and they’re going FAST.

zebra cardWhy do I post the deals on custom photo playing cards every time I see them? Because they’re an AWESOME gift! Really, I’ve bought these as gifts and they’re so much fun to give — and the gift recipient has a gift he or she can really use.Ā  Even better, ArtsCow has come out with a ton of pre-made templates so you can think outside the [playing card] box and get creative! Circular cards, heart-shaped cards, cards with sayings on them, Memory Game cards, cards for playing dominoes, even flash cards for kids!

Hop over to ArtsCow to upload your photo and make your custom playing cards for just $4.99 and FREE SHIPPING today! Use code NEWPLCARDS by 9/21/2010 to snag this deal.

I think I’m going to make a set of playing cards using their new safari zebra cartoon design and a photo of my kiddos from one of our summer trips to the zoo. This will make a great resourceful gift to stash away for Christmas!

FREE SHIPPING on prints & photo gifts at Snapfish September 4, 2010

SnapfishThis deal could not have arrived at a better time! When my son was born, nearly 5 years ago, I was SO good at printing photos and putting them in albums. Yeah, well, that time ended when he was just a few months old. (Queue the mommy guilt!) Time to get back on the ball and print the “best of the best” to put in albums for my kids!

Through September 11, 2010, Snapfish is offering FREE SHIPPING on prints and photo gifts! No minimum purchase! Just use code FREELDSHIP on your order. Be sure to pack that shopping cart full because the code is only good once per account. (For the details, click here and scroll to the bottom.)

Here’s a tip. If you use Picasa to share your photos online with friends, you can print those photos using Snapfish without having to upload your photos to Snapfish. From within Picasa, just click Prints > Order Prints, then choose Snapfish. Your selected Picasa photos will automatically be imported to Snapfish!

Expires: September 11, 2010

3 FREE Custom Photo Cards August 31, 2010

photo cardThere’s nothing like getting a personalized greeting card in the mail. Someone took the time to pick out a card for you, sign it (maybe even write a note in there!), address it, stamp it, and mail it — so much more effort than a simple email! Here’s a way to make THREE FREE custom photo cards in under 5 minutes (plus about $2.97 shipping & tax). That’s less time and cost than it takes to zip to the grocery store!

Just hop on over to Shutterfly to upload your photo(s) and create your cards. Enter code SUMMERCARDS at checkout to score this deal. Their cards are normally about $2.99 each, so you’ll save about $9 with this code!

You can make one card and print three of it (the fastest way to go; you’ll need to save 3 versions of the card — just rename it — then add them to your shopping cart) or mix and match three different cards. Think about upcoming birthdays. Who do you have embarrassing photos of? Or perhaps thank you cards for upcoming holidays.Ā  I love making “thinking of you” or blank cards to have custom photo note cards to use for any occasion!

One more thing! GRANDPARENTS DAY is September 12th! Make cards (go to “Everyday Occasions” and choose from their designs) for those deserving grandparents!

Expires: Hurry! This expires TOMORROW, September 1, 2010.

Thanks, “Cents”able Momma!
