$30 to save your life?

I love this time of year! I get to pull out my sweaters and snuggle under blankets. The temperatures are dropping and the heater is kicking on. Did you hear that? The heater is kicking on. Well, let me tell you something that happened to me.

When my first child was just one week old, we lived in an old house in a cold part of the country. I was at home with our baby in the middle of the day and suddenly our carbon monoxide detector started going off. I grabbed our baby and dashed across the street to the safety of a neighbor’s home. Long story short, thank goodness we had that carbon monoxide alarm to detect that odorless deadly gas! Do you have one (or two) in your home?

If you don’t, here are some good deals on a carbon monoxide detector made by First Alert that operates using AC power and also has a battery back-up.

If you already have a carbon monoxide detector for your home, PLEASE consider buying these as gifts this holiday season. Don’t wait to put it under the tree… Wrap it up now and give it as an early holiday gift to be opened and used NOW.

Be resourceful. It may only cost you $30 to save a life, and that life may be your own.

20 FREE holiday cards! New England photographer: Jessica Hughes

Now HERE is a business I wish I’d known about exactly 4 years ago when I lived in Central MA!

I’ve recently heard about Jessica Hughes, a fabulous photographer based out of Central MA. I love that she works with natural lighting and travels to YOU. Check out her site to see some of her sample work… it is amazing.

So, how do you get those 20 FREE holiday cards? Just book your photo session by December 5, 2009. It’s that easy!

Some ideas for photo opps include couples/engagements
, high school seniors,
 families
, children of all ages, maternity, newborns
, glamour/fashion, and don’t forget those holiday pics! (Having a photographer that travels to you for newborn photos is especially helpful. I’m talking from first-hand experience here. Just imagine photos of your sweet newborn in the natural light of his or her nursery in your arms!)

So, all you New Englanders (and I know we have lots of readers across the region), now is the time to give her a buzz to book your photo session! And just think how appreciative someone would be if you gave a photo session with Jessica Hughes as a Christmas or baby gift!
